Last year’s All-State runner Austin Remick has picked up right where he left off last year winning the opening OAA Red Jamboree by 10 seconds. This Saturday he continued his winning ways by winning the Muskrat Invitational in Algonac with a time of 15:45. “He followed the race plan perfectly and ran a smart and even race,” said second year head coach Anthony Pavicic. “He went out the first mile in 5:07, followed by a 5:03 and came home in 5:05”, Coach Pavicic added. “He only has done a few workouts and he’s not even close to his top shape yet and it is impressive how he can win meets by training through them.” Almost everybody on both the girls and guys team had PRs on Saturday. The regional meet was moved to Algonac High School so the team was able to become familiar with the course. Coach Pavicic expects the team to keep getting better every day. The Falcons cross country team will split its squad up this coming Saturday where the varsity will run at the Holly Invitational and the JV team will compete at the Autumn Classic at Stony Creek Metropark.
