Eisenhower coach Caitlin LaPratt said the Eagles’ balance has been crucial to their success all season.
“We have a couple go-to hitters, but if they were to have an off night we have a lot of variety in our offense – we have other people we can go to,” LaPratt said. “I would say defense has been our strongest point all season. We’re a strong serving team, and the girls are playing really well together.”
Kathryn Ciraulo (11) Hailey Barden (11) Luciana Arena (10) and Marissa Durand (9) led the Eagles in kills. Barden had 25 digs to lead the team, while Mikella VanLith added 15 digs and Sarah Wojcik added 14 digs. Payton Kennelly led the Eagles with 38 assists.
Rochester coach Lauren Duquette said her team battled well against a tough opponent, and that she’s proud of the way the Falcons progressed this year.
“(Eisenhower) is a very good team at least, and if you’re going to lose you want to lose to a ranked team,” Duquette said. “I was hoping maybe it was going to be more competitive. I thought we stood a chance, but we just played tight.”
