Rochester Splits the Crosstown Double Header with Stoney Creek – 4/12/2018

 

Game One: Rochester lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat to Stoney Creek on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Stoney Creek batting in the top of the fifth when Allison Moss doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Rochester opened up scoring in the first inning, when Catie Troy singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

The Falcons saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Harper Monica, Jenna Norgrove, and Troy all managed multiple hits for Rochester. Monica led Rochester with three hits in four at bats.

Victoria Wendt took the loss for the Falcons. She allowed six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two.

 

Game Two: Catie Troy was an RBI machine in the nightcap, driving in four runs on three hits to lead the Falcons past Stoney Creek 10-6. Troy drove in runs on a double in the first and a home run in the sixth.

There was plenty of action on the base paths as Rochester collected 14 hits and Stoney Creek had eight.

In the first inning, Stoney Creek got their offense started scoring two runs.  But the Flacons responded and in the bottom of the first inning and tied things up at two on a Troy double.

The Falcons pulled away for good with one run in the third inning on a Jenna Norgrove groundout. The Falcons scored four runs in the sixth inning, with RBI’s from Harper Monica and Troy.

Aryn Gallacher earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for the Falcons.

Rochester Falcons Varsity launched two home runs on the day. Monica went yard in the sixth inning. Troy also went for the long ball in the sixth inning.

Rochester Falcons Varsity racked up 14 hits. Troy, Megan Lorenzo, Karlynn Kelley, Emily Morrow, and Monica all managed multiple hits for Rochester Falcons Varsity. Troy went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Rochester Falcons Varsity in hits.
