Aryn Gallacher had all the right stuff on Wednesday for the Falcons, allowing zero runs and besting Athens High School by a score of 12-0
Rochester got on the board in the first inning when Catie Troy singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.
The Falcons then notched four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from triples by Reagan Engel and Grace Peterson, a sacrifice fly by Megan Lorenzo, and a fielder’s choice by Abby Michelz.
Gallacher led Rochester to victory on the rubber. She lasted five innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out eight and walking zero.
The Falcons racked up ten hits in game 1. Nicole Lahti and Troy each collected multiple hits. Lahti went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
Game Two: 9-1 victory
Rochester got on the board in the first inning when Julia Stark induced Grace Peterson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
The Falcons tallied three runs in the fifth inning, lead by fielder’s choices by Madelyn Schurman, Aryn Gallacher and by Grace Peterson.
Gallacher was the winning pitcher in game 2. She surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Faith Cabalum threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Falcons had 11 hits in the game. Lorenzo, Engel, and Schurman each managed two hits to lead Rochester in game 2.
