Rochester Falcons Varsity Clinches Lead in Sixth Inning for Victory Over Athens 10-8

Rochester  snatched the lead late in the game in a 10-8 victory over Athens on Saturday. The game was tied at eight with the Falcons batting in the top of the sixth when Olivia Cervone tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Rochester collected 11 hits and Athens had five.

The Falcons were fired up the offense in the first inning, when Reagan Engel doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring three runs.

Smith took the win for Rochester on the mound. The hurler allowed five hits and eight runs over six innings, striking out two.

Rochester racked up 11 hits in the game.  Megan Lorenzo, Engel, Cervone, Stephanie Glaspie, and Nicole Lahti each collected multiple hits for the Falcons.


Lorenzo Delivers Four Hits in Victory Over Warren Woods-Tower 19-6

Four hits from Megan Lorenzo helped lead Rochester past Warren Woods-Tower 19-6 on Saturday. Lorenzo singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, and hit a grand slam in the fourth.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. The Falcons collected 21 hits with Warren Woods-Tower hitting four.

Rochester put up nine runs in the fourth inning.  Olivia Cervone, Stephanie Glaspie, Faith Cabalum, Lorenzo, Kate Breitschuh, and Cervone all drove in runs in the frame.

Dru Haney led the Falcons to victory in the circle. The fireballer lasted two innings, allowing three hits and five runs while walking one.  Emma Hillstead threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Rochester totaled 21 hits in the game.  Lorenzo, Cervone, Glaspie, Breitschuh, Madelyn Schurman, and Reagan Engel each had multiple hits for the Falcons.  Cervone and Lorenzo each managed four hits to lead Rochester.
